DescriptionThe Mechanical Engineering Technician works with our Maintenance and trades team to support the operational efficiency and safety of the feedlot by applying your practical trade skills with engineering knowledge.
You'll be rewarded with a base annual income between $85,000 - $95,000 plus superannuation and ongoing training and development.
Your day to day duties will include:Assist with the design and development of mechanical equipment and systemsPrepare and update technical drawings Assemble and test prototypes, machinery, and equipmentDiagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problemsCollect and analyse performance data from machinery and equipmentMaintain and calibrate testing equipmentPrepare technical reports and documentationSupport maintenance and continuous improvement projects.Ensure equipment complies with safety and regulatory requirementsAbout youHaving obtained an AQF Associate Degree,
Advanced Diploma or Diploma (and at least two years of on-the-job training) or bring 3 years' experience, you'll be a self-motivated, positive team player who thrives in a quick-paced environment along with:Ability to read and accurately interpret engineering drawings and specificationsKnowledge of relevant software and systemsStrong mechanical systems knowledge (hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, conveyors).
Equipment testing and fault-finding.Preventive and predictive maintenance.Technical report writing and documentation.Understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes.Problem-solving & root cause analysis Commitment to working safelyKnowledge of relevant standards and codesYou'll also be physically fit in order to safely undertake physical aspects of this role.OPEN DATE: 01/09/26CLOSING DATE: 01/10/26
