Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for Principal Technical Safety Engineer to join our team in Melbourne.
Reporting to the Lead Process and Safety Engineer, the successful applicant will be part of a busy project team delivering projects for our client.
ResponsibilitiesAbility to perform QRA for new and existing offshore and onshore Oil & Gas facilitiesPerforming Consequence Modelling using PHAST softwareFSA Studies development including FERA, NFHA, EERA, ESSA, TRIA, DORAOnshore and Offshore Safety Case developmentProviding technical input on industry best practices in relation to ALARP requirements, loss prevention codes and standardsAbility to engage in various risk Workshops/ Reviews e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, Constructability Reviews and incorporate Review findings into design requirements and Safety Case.
HAZOP facilitation experience would be highly regarded
Qualifications
An Engineering degree,



previous experience within the oil and gas industry (extensive Technical Safety engineering experience)Excellent communication skills when working with cross functional teams to provide technical safety related input on projectsHighly experienced delivering technical presentations to clientsA thorough understanding of Onshore and Offshore Australian Safety Case regulationsExperience in operating DNV PHAST software, DNV Safeti risk software and Flaresim softwareCandidates must have full work rights in Australia to be considered for this role.
