Positioned on the edge of Mandjar Bay and alongside the vibrant Mandurah Boardwalk, our hotel welcomes leisure guests, corporate travellers, groups and events throughout the year.As part of Accor, one of the world's leading hospitality groups, joining The Sebel Mandurah means becoming part of a global network of hospitality professionals with access to fantastic employee benefits, learning opportunities and career pathways.We are now looking for an enthusiastic and organised Events & Groups Coordinator to join our close-knit team in a part time capacity of approximately 20 hours per week.Job DescriptionReporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, you will play an important role in coordinating conferences, events and group bookings from initial enquiry through to delivery.This is a varied role for someone who enjoys building relationships, keeping the details organised and seeing an event come together successfully.Your responsibilities will include:Responding proactively to event, conference and group enquiries received via phone, email, website and walk-in clientsBuilding strong relationships with new, prospective and returning clientsPreparing accurate and professional event, conference and group proposals and contractsLiaising with organisers to understand event requirements, special requests and operational needsPreparing event orders, floor plans and other documentation required for seamless event deliveryWorking closely with hotel departments to ensure event and group requirements are clearly communicated and deliveredAssisting with accommodation inventory, group bookings and rooming listsCoordinating site inspections and familiarisation visits for prospective and existing clientsAssisting with event room presentation,
set-up, pack-down and event delivery when requiredPreparing and coordinating deposits, final invoices and other event account requirementsProviding professional front-of-house support to clients and guests during events and functionsParticipating in weekly event and operational briefing meetingsSupporting event content and marketing initiatives in line with brand standardsThis is an opportunity to take ownership of the guest and client journey while working closely with a supportive hotel team.QualificationsWe would love to hear from you if you have:1–2 years' experience within conferences, events, groups or a similar hospitality environmentExperience with reactive and/or proactive salesA genuine passion for creating memorable events and guest experiencesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organisation skills and attention to detailConfidence building relationships with clients and working collaboratively with operational teamsThe ability to manage multiple enquiries, deadlines and prioritiesA proactive, flexible and solutions-focused approachUnlimited working rights in AustraliaFlexibility to work varied hours when required, including occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidaysPrevious hotel experience would be highly regarded.Additional InformationWhy Work With Accor?
