DescriptionThe Opportunity:
Kent is recruiting a Regional Communications Specialist to join our global Corporate Communications and Advocacy team on a permanent basis.
This newly created role offers a strong opportunity to build a career within a specialist global communications function in a fast-paced, international energy business.
Based in Perth, you'll be embedded in the central global team within a key market.
Your role is to ensure global communications reflect regional insights by building relationships, gathering content, and providing local context to support impactful, market-relevant messaging.
Reporting to a Global Communications Director, you'll collaborate on content, campaigns, events, and media support.
Acting as the link between regional activity and global output, you'll play a critical role in shaping accurate and credible communications.
This role suits someone looking to grow and make an impact.
You'll join a high-performing global team, gain exposure to major initiatives including M&A; and brand campaigns, and take on increasing responsibility as you develop.
In this role, the ideal candidate will bring:
A warm, confident and naturally personable communication style – you build rapport quickly and find it easy to connect with people across different levels and backgrounds.
Genuine curiosity about the energy sector and a desire to develop your knowledge of the industry, your regional market and the communications landscape within it.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to summarise, contextualise and communicate information clearly and with good judgement.
A proactive, self-starting approach – you actively look for stories, opportunities and insights rather than waiting to be directed,
and you bring energy and enthusiasm to your work.
Comfort working with significant autonomy whilst remaining a committed, visible and collaborative member of a remote global team.
A genuine willingness to travel, both within your region and periodically to the central team and other markets
It would be an advantage if you have:
Some experience or study in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations or a related field.
Any exposure to the energy, engineering or industrial sectors – candidates with relevant industry background will be given priority consideration.
Experience in a role that involved building relationships and influencing people, even outside a formal communications context.
Familiarity with social media platforms used in a professional or organisational context.
Any experience with content capture, photography, video or basic content creation tools.
