Wood is recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Operations business in Perth, Western Australia.
This role is perfect for an experienced Structural Engineer that is aiming at expanding their career development and exposure within the Australian Oil & Gas Industry.
This role will be on an initial 12-month contract and is anticipated to be an ongoing requirement.
Wood's Operations APAC (West) business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the Oil & Gas sector and enjoys long-term partnerships with the region's most prominent producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory, Kazakhstan, and Sakhalin.
Reporting to the Principal Structural Engineer, you will be working across FEED / Execution to EPCM delivery, with a focus on design.
To be successful in your Senior Structural Engineer role, you will have prior Senior engineer level working experience in the Offshore LNG, Oil & Gas sectors within an EPCM engineering and maintenance project environment with both onshore and offshore scope of work engagements.
ResponsibilitiesFocal point for Structural engineering activities across the project life cycle (Concept, FEED, detailed design) to produce fit for purpose solutionProduce cost effective Structural engineering reports, documents and deliverables for inclusion in workpacksSupport and mentor junior engineers and designersEnsure as far as practically possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and scheduleProvide technical assistance to others when required.At Wood,

Qualifications
Only candidates with full work rights for the Australian location will be considered.
Ideally, you will be a qualified engineer with a Mechanical / Structural Engineering degree from a recognised institution and have:Extensive experience as a Structural Engineer with 6+ years in the Australian O&G; sectorExperience in Offshore site environment and site surveying/scoping Prior experience within Brownfield EPCM projects within the Oil & Gas industry is essentialStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with the clientEffective time management skills and ability to prioritiseExperience in the use of SACS, StaadPro software packages Experience in the use of API, AISC and ISO design codes.What will set you apart will be your extensive experience as a Structural Engineer / Senior Structural Engineer in the Australian O&G; sector.
