Our team manages and executes large-scale capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety and leave a lasting positive legacy in the communities we engage with.What you'll do:This is an opportunity to play a key role in a growing team, providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers and overseeing the successful delivery of multidisciplinary mining projects from concept through to execution.As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will provide technical leadership while supporting project delivery across a diverse portfolio of mining projects.
Your responsibilities will include:Leading mechanical engineering design and project delivery activitiesProviding technical direction and governance across project teamsDelivering studies, investigations,



detailed design and asset improvement projectsBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with mining clients and stakeholdersMentoring and developing mechanical engineers across the teamReviewing and approving engineering deliverablesSupporting project planning, budgeting and commercial performanceCollaborating with multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, civil, structural, electrical and process disciplinesContributing to business development, proposals and client engagement activitiesAbout you:You will be an experienced consulting or owner-side engineer with strong mining industry knowledge and a passion for delivering practical engineering solutions.Ideally, you'll bring:13+ years of mechanical engineering experienceProven experience delivering mining, minerals processing or heavy industrial projectsStrong knowledge of sustaining capital and brownfield project deliveryExperience leading multidisciplinary project teamsExcellent client relationship and stakeholder management skillsStrong technical expertise across mechanical plant and equipmentExperience preparing and reviewing engineering documentation and design packagesChartered Engineer status or working towards chartershipA Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualificationWhy WSP?
