DescriptionTo design, develop, and maintain high-quality embedded firmware to support robust, scalable, and reliable products.
Contribute to the full product lifecycle from concept through production, ensuring firmware aligns with hardware design and system requirements.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS / KPA's (Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Duties)Design, develop, and deliver high-quality embedded firmware within agreed timelinesDrive firmware projects from concept through to production and post-release supportDevelop and maintain reusable, scalable, and maintainable codebasesCollaborate closely with hardware, production, and testing teams to ensure system integrationDebug, optimize, and improve firmware performance and reliabilityContribute to architecture decisions and technical direction of firmware systemsSupport manufacturing and field teams with firmware-related issues and improvementsParticipate in code reviews and enforce best practices and coding standardsMaintain and contribute to internal documentation (wiki, processes, technical notes)Provide input into hardware design from a firmware perspectiveAttend and actively contribute to firmware and hardware team meetings COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Hard Skills & Soft Skills/Behaviors)Knowledge:Embedded systems and microcontroller architecturesReal-time systems and firmware design principlesCommunication protocols (e.g. UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, etc.)Electronics fundamentals and schematic interpretationSoftware development lifecycle and best practicesVersion control systems (e.g. Git)Hard Skills:Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systemsDebugging on hardware (e.g.
