The Strand Hotel is looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at one of Yeppoon's best-known coastal venues.Located right on the waterfront, The Strand has been part of the Yeppoon community for more than 60 years and is a genuine local favourite.
With a busy bistro, functions, events and a diverse pub menu, this is a great opportunity for a chef who enjoys a rapid-paced kitchen and wants to develop their leadership skills.The RoleWorking closely with the Head Chef, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen and help lead a team through busy services.You'll be responsible for:Supporting the Head Chef with the overall kitchen operationLeading, motivating and developing the kitchen teamMaintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and consistencyRunning smooth and organised services in a high-volume environmentTaking responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef's absenceAssisting with ordering, stock control and deliveriesSupporting food cost and waste managementMaintaining food safety, hygiene and WHS standardsContributing ideas to menus,
