Reporting to the Site Manager, you will operate a motor grader to achieve precise final levels and finishes in accordance with project plans and design specifications.
Your responsibilities will include
Completing final trim work to required levels and tolerances
Trimming and shaping road surfaces, subgrades, batters and drainage systems
Working from construction plans, survey pegs, laser levels and GPS machine-control systems
Ensuring correct levels, alignment and surface finishes are achieved
Conducting pre-start inspections and basic equipment maintenance
Identifying and reporting equipment faults and safety concerns
Working closely with surveyors, supervisors and other operators
Maintaining a clean and secure work area
Complying with all WHS requirements and company procedures
About you
To be successful, you will have:
Proven experience operating graders in final trim applications
Strong knowledge of civil construction and earthworks
The ability to read and interpret construction plans and levels
Experience using GPS machine-control systems such as Topcon or Trimble
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Good communication and teamwork skills
A current driver’s licence
A Construction Industry White Card
Relevant machinery tickets or competency certification
GPS machine-control training and other relevant civil construction tickets will be highly regarded.
