Melbourne

CheckHero keeps Victorian rental properties compliant. We handle gas, electrical, smoke alarm and rental minimum standards checks for over 400 Melbourne property managers — and we're growing the team that does the repair and upgrade work those inspections generate.

Victoria's rental minimum standards are expanding, and the volume of draught sealing, water-efficiency and safety work required across rental properties is climbing with them. This is a full time role with a steady pipeline behind it.

What you'll be doing

You'll work a pre-planned daily run of rental properties across Melbourne, completing:
Draughtproofing — sealing gaps around external doors, windows and unsealed wall vents
Replacing showerheads with water-productive fittings
Installing cord anchors for blind and curtain cord safety
Small home repairs — door and window hardware, seals, fixtures, minor patching
Photographing and recording every job in our app before you leave site

Your run comes through the day before, so you know what's needed at each address before you arrive. You start at 8am and you finish at 4pm. Licensed plumbing and electrical work is carried out by our licensed technicians, not by you.

What you'll need
At least 3 years' hands-on experience in home repairs, maintenance or a related trade — handyperson, carpentry, building maintenance or facilities
Current Victorian driver's licence and a reliable vehicle of your own
Confidence using a phone or tablet for job records and photos — this is how we work, not an optional extra
Comfortable working from a ladder and on your feet for a full day
Presentable and dependable in occupied homes — you'll be meeting renters at the door most of the day
Full Australian work rights

Nice to have
Experience working a route or daily run — inspections, pest control, duct cleaning, telco field work
Familiarity with Victoria's rental minimum standards
Working with Children Check or police check

What we offer
$70,000–$80,000 + superannuation, depending on experience
Car allowance and fuel card
8am–4pm, Monday to Friday — no weekends, no on-call, no after-hours callouts
Full induction and ongoing training
Secure work in a growing compliance market
