Reporting to the Rail Operations Manager,the positionincludes the following responsibilities:Load and unload of trucks, trailers, containers,



and rail wagonsSort and check freight against customer delivery paperworkRestrain loads as per the National Load Restraint GuidePalletise and pack loadsHandle general and non standard freightCounterbalance forklift operationHeavy lifting and dunnage dutiesSecuring and restraining loads in a safe manner as per operational requirementsPerform vehicle pre-start checksReport all damage freight and shortages via the exception reporting processPerform general housekeeping of trailers, wagons and SCT's premisesComplying with the Warehouse Traffic Management PlanEnsure compliance with all of SCT's policies, procedures and applicable state and federal legislation.Desired Skills and ExperienceThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:Current LF High Risk Work license.Experience operating a Forklift in a transit warehouse.Transporting freight in a safe and efficient manner.Knowledge & experience with load restraint procedures.Knowledge of Chain of ResponsibilityOther important informationWe reserve the right to commence recruitment proceedings prior to the stated closing date.The successful candidate will have to undertake an Australian Federal Police check and Pre-Employment Medical (for certain roles) which will be arranged and paid for by SCT.SCT is an equal prospect employer and we recognise the value and importance of diversity.
