About The RoleDays of Working: This is a mobile, multi-site role, requiring flexibility to support operational needs around Horsham, shift patterns will vary depending on site requirements.As a Casual Security Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment across a range of court and tribunal buildings within a defined area.
You will be responsible for supporting site teams with access control, monitoring activity and responding to incidents, ensuring that all visitors, staff and service users are treated in a professional and respectful manner.This is a flexible, multi-site role, where you will work across different locations to support operational needs such as sickness and absence.
Shift patterns will vary depending on site requirements, with most shifts taking place Monday to Friday during court operating hours.As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited toProvide a professional, welcoming and customer‐focused service to all court usersControl access to buildings, ensuring security procedures are followed at all timesOperate security equipment including CCTV, x‐ray machines and handheld metal detectors*Conduct searches in line with site procedures, including bag checks on entryMonitor public and restricted areas, maintaining regular communication with control pointsPatrol court buildings and satellite locations where requiredRespond promptly and effectively to alarms,



incidents and security concernsAccurately record and report all incidents and activitiesSupport the safe and secure movement of people within the buildingMaintain high standards of professionalism and compliance at all timesThe ideal candidate should meet the following criteriaMust have Right to Work in the UK and ability to pass an enhanced DBS and BS**** security clearance**A valid SIA Licence and relevant security experienceFull UK driving licence and use of own vehicle*Strong communication and customer service skillsA professional, reliable and detail‐focused approachGood understanding of security procedures and health & safety practicesAbility to remain calm and respond effectively in challenging situationsAbility to travel between sites within a defined areaDesirableExperience working within public sector or regulated environmentsExperience using security systems such as CCTV and screening equipmentAdditional BenefitsFlexible working patterns to suit operational needsFunded training, development opportunities and a clear pathway to recognised qualificationsWork as part of a professional and supportive team within the Courts & Tribunals Servicelocation specificThis position is open only to candidates with an unrestricted right to work in the UK.
