The Hive Bondi, is seeking a skilled, experienced, qualified and passionate OSHC Educational Leader who is ready to inspire and nurture educators, implement high-quality, inclusive programming & processes and deliver positive impacts on the learning, development and wellbeing of school-age children.The SERIOUS STUFF: The successful applicant will preferably already hold a relevant OSHC/ECEC qualification and must demonstrate proven experience in educational programming, planning and reflective practice.

Operating for 11 years, and licensed for 160 places, we are independently managed by the P&C; and are not-for-profit; directing funds back into dynamic programming, resources, experiences and support for our children, our school and our team.Our dedicated Hive staff operate collaboratively to ensure a setting where children feel safe, valued and supported to develop independence, confidence, creativity and sense of belonging and agency.Our team works hard to create opportunities for children to ask questions, make choices, develop interests, explore curiosities, build and navigate relationships and to actively contribute to their environment and experiences.Our recruitment process emphasises child safety, collaboration, initiative, a growth mindset and a sense of humour,



focusing on educators whose qualified experience demonstrates a genuine love for working with children and making a positive difference in their lives.About the RoleAs our Educational Leader, you'll take on the key role in guiding educational practice, supporting educator development and ensuring our OSHC programs across all settings and time-spans (morning, afternoon, holiday) reflect the changing interests, strengths, abilities, needs and voices of the children attending the service.You will guide educators to create experiences, activities, schedules and processes that encourage children's creativity, independence, social development, health, wellbeing and sense of connection, ensuring the program remains responsive to children's inputs and their evolving developmental needs.
We also expect you to explore and tap into any areas of skill and interest that individual Educators may bring to the table.This role requires a confident and collaborative leader who can mentor educators (individually and at group level), encourage reflective practice, support senior management and contribute to a positive team culture where child safety and high-quality education & care inform everything we do.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide guidance for educators to develop, implement and evaluate engaging OSHC programs, based on children's interests, strengths, abilities, ideas and goalsBased on your independent reading and research; lead, inspire and mentor educators to strengthen their pedagogical practice and professional growth, whilst remaining responsive to current learnings and researchSupport educators to confidently implement the cycle of planning; including observations, documentation, assessment, critical reflection, identifying opportunities for improvementPromote child-led learning and intentional teaching through meaningful indoor and outdoor experiencesSupport the whole team to create inclusive environments where children, families and educators feel a strong sense of belongingSupport educators during daily routines, transitions, indoor and outdoor play, excursions and vacation care experiencesEnsure children's safety, wellbeing and supervision are maintained at all timesEncourage educators to build positive and respectful relationships with children, families and colleaguesMaintain accurate educational records and documentation in accordance with relevant regulations,



standards and centre policiesContribute to the service's Quality Improvement Plan and Self Assessment ModuleWork collaboratively with the leadership team to maintain a positive, professional and supportive workplace cultureParticipate in team meetings, professional development and ongoing trainingAbout YouYou are a passionate, experienced and (ideally) qualified educator who enjoys working with school-age children, leading others, evolving and sharing knowledge and creating meaningful learning experiences.You will bring:Minimum 3 years relevant experience in an OSHC environmentExisting relevant OSHC/ECEC qualification, or actively working towards same is highly regardedExperience as an Educational Leader or other leadership/programming role is highly regarded.
We're also open to high calibre candidates who've not previously held an Ed Leader roleStrong understanding of child-led learning, intentional teaching and critical reflectionEstablished personal interest and practice of evolving your own pedagogical learning, to bring to your leadership roleSolid understanding of the NQF, including NQS & MTOPStrong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire, mentor and support educatorsStrong, empathetic communication skills, social, verbal and writtenConfident relationship-building skills with children, families and colleaguesEnthusiasm, initiative and a genuine passion for working with childrenA positive attitude and genuine commitment to teamwork and collaborationProfessional presentation and a high level of organisationMandatory RequirementsThe successful applicant will hold/have completed:Current Working With Children CheckNational Child Safety Foundation Training Modules 1-4 (or willing to complete quickly)Current First Aid and CPR qualifications, including HLTAID012Identify and Report Children and Young People at Risk (CHCPRT025)Unrestricted right to work in AustraliaWhy The Hive?
