Melbourne CBD | 3-Year Contract | Full-Time OnsiteAn excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Calibration Officer / Instrumentation Technician to join a specialist technical team within a large Australian Government organisation.This long-term contract will suit someone with a strong practical background in calibration, metrology, electronics or instrumentation, who enjoys hands‐on technical work within a highly regulated and quality-focused environment.The RoleWorking within a specialist technical laboratory, you will be responsible for the calibration, testing, verification and maintenance of a broad range of instrumentation and equipment.Your responsibilities will include:Undertaking calibration, testing and maintenance of laboratory and field equipmentPerforming acceptance testing and verification of new instrumentationCoordinating calibration activities in line with project and operational schedulesAnalysing test and calibration data and investigating technical issuesEvaluating equipment performance and supporting technical investigationsPreparing technical reports, procedures and work instructionsProviding technical advice to project and operational stakeholdersSupporting continuous improvement of calibration and testing practicesContributing to quality management processes aligned with ISO **** and ISO/IEC *****Using Microsoft Excel and other systems to analyse and manage technical informationSupporting the development and testing of computer programs used for technical and operational activitiesTo be successful, you will ideally have:Demonstrated practical experience in calibration, measurement and instrumentationExperience with measurement traceability and uncertaintyA background working with electronic, electrical, mechanical or scientific equipmentExperience within a calibration, testing, standards or technical laboratory environmentStrong troubleshooting,



investigation and problem‐solving skillsStrong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 capabilityExperience analysing and documenting technical resultsStrong written communication and technical documentation skillsKnowledge of ISO/IEC ***** and/or ISO **** environments will be highly regardedExperience with instrumentation used in field or operational environments will also be advantageousThe most important technical requirement is practical experience across calibration, traceability and uncertainty.The OpportunityThis is a three-year contract offering the opportunity to contribute to a significant, long‐term technical program within a large and complex organisation.The position is based in Melbourne CBD/Docklands and requires five days per week onsite.
