Mini Masterminds Maintenance Officer / Professional HandymanMini Masterminds is a leading early childhood education provider committed to creating safe, nurturing and inspiring learning environments where every child can thrive.
We are seeking a skilled, reliable and hands-on Maintenance Officer / Professional Handyman to join our team on a Full time basis.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid maintenance or handyman experience who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work and is comfortable working across multiple locations.
You will support our network of Mini Masterminds centres throughout Greater Sydney Metro, helping keep our facilities, indoor and outdoor environments in excellent condition.About The RoleAs our Maintenance Officer / Professional Handyman, you will be responsible for responding to maintenance requests, completing repairs and carrying out general upkeep across our centres.
You will work closely with Centre Directors to identify and prioritise maintenance needs, complete scheduled works and ensure issues are addressed efficiently.
This is a mobile, hands-on position.
A company van, tools, petrol and work phone will be provided.You will receive an initial induction and training to familiarise you with our centres, processes and expectations.
Once training is completed, you will be expected to manage your workload and carry out your duties independently with guidance from your direct manager.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out general repairs, maintenance and handyman tasks across our centresComplete preventative and reactive maintenancePerform basic carpentry, painting, patching, plumbing and general building repairsRepair and maintain doors, locks, gates, shelving, fixtures, fittings and furnitureAssemble and install equipment and fixtures as requiredAssist with outdoor areas and general grounds upkeepOrganise and coordinate subcontractors or suppliers as requiredRespond to maintenance requests and prioritise jobs based on urgencyIdentify potential hazards,



maintenance issues and areas requiring attentionMaintain tools, equipment and the company vehicle in good working orderKeep maintenance areas and workspaces clean and organisedLiaise with your direct manager and Centre Directors regarding completed and outstanding worksFollow workplace health and safety requirements and Mini Masterminds policies and proceduresArrange or escal ate works requiring qualified tradespeople where necessaryAbout YouExperienced in hands-on maintenance, handyman work, facilities maintenance or a similar fieldConfident working independently once training and induction have been completedPractical, resourceful and a natural problem solverOrganised and able to manage multiple tasks across different locationsReliable, punctual and professionalComfortable working around children, families and educatorsSafety-conscious and attentive to detailPhysically capable of carrying out general maintenance dutiesComfortable travelling throughout Greater Sydney MetroSomeone who takes pride in maintaining clean, safe and well-presented environmentsUnderstanding of compliance and safety requirements within childcare centresExperience in early childhood, education, commercial facilities, property maintenance or a similar industry will be highly regarded.What We ProvideFull-Time employmentCompany van providedTools and equipment providedPetrol provided for work-related travelWork phone providedInitial training and inductionOngoing support from the Mini Masterminds teamStable and ongoing employmentEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Professional and supportive working environmentEssential RequirementsPrevious experience in a maintenance, handyman, facilities builder or similar roleWilling to obtain Paid Working With Children Check (WWCC)Current Australian driver's licenceAbility and willingness to travel between Mini Masterminds centres across Greater Sydney MetroGood understanding of workplace health and safetyAbility to work independently following initial trainingStrong communication and organisational skillsValid Australian working rightsVisa sponsorship is not available for this role.
