The ClientAP Smash Repair is an automotive service and repair workshop based in Derrimut, VIC, specializing in vehicle diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and routine servicing.They are seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join their team in Derrimut, VIC.The RoleThe Motor Mechanic is responsible for delivering diagnostic, repair, and maintenance services across a range of vehicles, ensuring all work meets technical specifications, safety standards, and customer requirements.This is for a full time position with an annual salary set at $80,000 plus superannuation.The ResponsibilitiesDiagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and technical proceduresInspect vehicles and assess system performance across engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, and braking systemsPerform servicing and maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake servicing, and system adjustmentsDismantle, repair, and reassemble engine components, transmissions, and associated mechanical systemsReplace defective parts and components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and repair standardsConduct testing and verification of repairs to ensure functionality, safety, and complianceInterpret technical manuals, service documentation, and repair guides to support accurate diagnostics and repairsMaintain records of servicing, repairs,
and parts usage in line with workshop and compliance requirementsIdentify additional faults or service requirements and communicate findings to supervisors or customersEnsure all work is completed in accordance with workplace safety procedures and automotive standardsMaintain workshop tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and operational conditionCoordinate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of jobsThe RequirementsCertificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualificationCertificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis and/or Diploma of Automotive Technology highly regarded.At least a year of motor mechanical experience in a commercial workshop settingAt least a year experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults across vehicle systemsMinimum a year using OBD-II diagnostic tools, workshop equipment and vehicle service information.Minimum a year experience performing servicing, maintenance, and repair of engines, transmissions, and braking systemsMust have at least a year experience working with Asian and European car vehiclesMust have at least a year motor mechanical experience with AWDs, 4WDs,Must have at least a year experience with Hybrid vehiclesAbility to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and repair documentationStrong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficientlyGood understanding of workplace safety procedures and automotive compliance standardsAbility to work independently and manage workload in a workshop environmentGood communication skills and ability to liaise with team members and customersValid Driver's Licence
