About the roleMidas Reynella Tyre & Auto is seeking an experienced Senior Automotive Technician/Mechanic to join our team in Reynella, SA.
This is a full-time position that offers a fantastic opportunity for a skilled technician to take on a leadership role within our automotive service centre.
As a Senior Automotive Technician/Mechanic, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical repairs and maintenance services whilst mentoring junior staff and contributing to the overall excellence of our workshop operations.
This role is based on-site at our Reynella location, where you'll work with modern diagnostic equipment and a diverse range of vehicle types.Key responsibilitiesPerform comprehensive diagnostic assessments and repairs on vehicles, including engine work, transmission, suspension, braking systems and electrical componentsConduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups and general vehicle inspectionsUtilise computerised diagnostic equipment and specialised tools to identify and resolve mechanical faults efficientlyMentor, train and supervise junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices and technical proceduresEnsure all work is completed to the highest standards, maintaining detailed service records and documentationLiaise with customers to explain repair requirements, timelines and associated costs in a explicit and qualified mannerMaintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment in compliance with health and safety regulationsContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and participate in ongoing professional developmentAssist in stock management for parts and equipment as requiredWhat we're looking forA minimum of 5+ years' experience as an automotive technician or mechanic in a professional workshop environmentProven expertise in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicle makes and modelsProficiency with modern diagnostic equipment and computer-based vehicle systemsRelevant qualifications such as an AQF Level 3 or 4 in Automotive Service or equivalent trade qualificationA current valid driver's licence (manual transmission experience is essential)Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with the capacity to motivate and develop team membersExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailOutstanding communication abilities and a customer-focused mindsetKnowledge of automotive electrical systems, engine management and safety systems is highly valuedA commitment to workplace safety and compliance with all relevant regulationsWhat we offerCompetitive salary commensurate with your experience and qualificationsCareer progression opportunities within Midas and recognition for expertise and leadership contributionsAccess to ongoing professional development and technical training programmesModern workshop equipment and tools to support your workA supportive team environment focused on quality workmanship and customer satisfactionSuperannuation contributions in accordance with legislative requirementsA workplace culture that values safety, integrity and continuous improvementWeekly and monthly bonusesAbout usMidas Reynella Tyre & Auto is a trusted automotive service centre committed to providing exceptional mechanical repairs, maintenance and tyre services to the local Reynella community and surrounding areas.
