A leading global insurer is seeking a skilled Reinsurance Accountant to join their Reinsurance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This role will manage reinsurance treaty accounting and administration working closely with the broader Finance team to support month-end reporting, statutory compliance, and process improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reporting for the reinsurance functionCalculate reinsurance treaty premium adjustments, reinstatement premiums and profit commissionsComplete reporting schedules and local reporting requirements, including Withholding Tax returns and ABS Survey reinsurance componentsPrepare and reviewreinsurance statutory reports and schedules,



ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting deadlinesReconcile debtor positions and oversee credit control, ensuring premiums are paid on timeSupport audit queries and maintain controls across all reinsurance transactionsContribute to process improvement, automation and centralisation initiatives within the Reinsurance and wider Finance teamAbout YouExperience in commercial insurance, preferably within reinsurance accounting or general insuranceCA/CPA qualification -or working towardsAdvanced Excel skills, analytical skills, and the ability to manage ambiguity and competing deadlinesFull working rights in Australia requiredThis is a 12 month FTC and can be based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
