Amentum have an exciting opportunity for a full time Service Person to join their team at the Alice Springs office.
Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Officer – This role will see you perform maintenance, repairs or renovations in several skill areas including plumbing, carpentry, painting, landscaping, reticulation and plastering within residential properties in the town of Alice Springs.
The serviceperson also provides support to trades and other personnel, as well as undertaking duties and tasks required.
Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday **********Hrs and Friday *********Hrs (38-hour week)ResponsibilitiesPerform building operations maintenance for the facility in accordance with established environmental and safety proceduresA wide range of tasks to support the organization in its undertaking of the Vesta contract requirements and undertake grounds maintenance activities as requiredOperate plant and machinery including skid steer, excavator, dingo, crane truck, etc. as requiredUndertake regular inspections and tasks within the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and certificationsUndertake all work in a safe and skilled mannerReport and incidents to management as a priorityUse of computer systems to record and plan work tasksAssist in other areas of facilities and maintenance area from time to time, as required.Ensure, promote, and maintain health and safety practices/compliances at worksites and within the workplaceOther duties as directed by the Vesta Management TeamAbout YouMinimum of 12 months experience in a similar rolePrevious experience within carpentry electrical or plumbing trades would be highly regardedConsiderable knowledge of and skill in use of hand and powered equipment and machinery, including but not limited to grinders, drills, saws, planers, routers,



radial arm saws and measuring devicesStrong interpersonal skills with a customer service focusDemonstrated ability to identify and analyze issues and develop solutions to problemsAbility to work professionally with minimal supervision and in a team environmentWorking at HeightsForklift License and EWP (desirable)CPR/First Aid (desirable)Current Drivers LicenceWillingness to perform Background Checks, Police Clearance and Medical including D&A; TestWork Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental DemandsWorking in Alice Springs can be hot and physical work.
Typical tasks include but are not limited to Patching painting walls, housing maintenance repairs, outdoor tap replacements, lawn upgrades, door replacements.Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)12 months experienceAt least 18 years of age.Able to fluently read, write and speak EnglishCompleting work task in a safe mannerReporting any unsafe acts or conditions to their supervisor and/or Vesta PMO/EHS ManagerContinuous adherence to the environmental, health and safety procedures outlined in the JDFPG Handbook during the performance of their workRed-Carding a Job - Employee right and responsibility to "STOP WORK" if a job is unsafe or possess a danger to the environmentSECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTSIt is a condition of employment at JDFPG that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role.The employee will require a NV-1 Department of Defense Security Clearance (Australian).
