About the role

Australian Reel Company is a Bendigo-region manufacturer of steel and timber cable reels and drums, supplying major cable, mining and infrastructure customers across Australia. We're growing and need a capable boilermaker/welder to join our steel fabrication team at our Marong workshop.

This is hands-on fabrication work. You'll be building steel reels and drums from plasma-cut components, along with dispenser frames, rolled shells and custom fabrication jobs. We're flexible on the arrangement – we have both casual and full time positions available, and we're happy to talk about which suits you best.

What you'll be doing
MIG welding and fabrication of steel cable reels, drums and frames
Reading drawings and working to specification
Assembling, fitting and tacking components from plasma-cut parts
Operating our CNC plasma cutter, rolling machine and general workshop equipment
Grinding, finishing and prepping work for paint
Working safely and following our SWMS and workshop procedures
Helping keep the workshop tidy and production moving

What we're looking for




Trade-qualified boilermaker/welder (Cert III Engineering – Fabrication Trade), or solid hands-on experience in structural/general fabrication
Strong MIG welding skills with a valuable eye for quality and finish
Able to read and work from fabrication drawings
CNC plasma cutting experience highly regarded
Self-motivated, reliable and safety-focused
Comfortable working as part of a small team
Forklift licence and overhead crane experience an advantage (not essential)
Current driver's licence and reliable transport to Marong
