Every role at the AFL helps progress the game, so more people can love it, connect with it and see what is possible through it.The opportunityAs Broadcast and Social Media Assistant, you'll help bring Territory football closer to fans and communities through reliable broadcast support and engaging digital content.Based in Darwin, this casual role supports AFLNT's weekly broadcast operations, social media channels, website and broader content activity.
You'll collaborate with the Content and Communications Coordinator, commentary teams, broadcast partners and the broader AFLNT team.This is a great opportunity to start or build your experience in sport, media or content while working close to the action.What You'll OwnYou'll support organised, accurate and engaging broadcast and content delivery across Territory football.You'll Add Value ThroughSupporting weekly broadcast preparation, including commentary notes, team sheets and talent requirementsHelping coordinate match day broadcast activity so delivery runs smoothlyLiaising with commentary teams, broadcast partners and AFLNT colleaguesCapturing photos and video at matches, events, programmes and community football activitiesCreating and publishing engaging short-form content for AFLNT social media channelsWriting clear and accurate captions, website updates and event contentUpdating website articles, images, fixtures, results and key informationKeeping broadcast notes, content files, images, video assets and records organisedWhat You'll BringA genuine interest in Australian Rules Football, social media and community storytellingConfidence capturing photo and video content, with a willingness to build your camera and editing skillsClear written communication skills and strong attention to detailThe organisation needed to manage content,



information and competing match day prioritiesConfidence communicating with staff, commentators, partners and other stakeholdersReliability and sound judgement when working around live sportInitiative, curiosity and a willingness to learnAvailability to work a casual roster of approximately 25 hours per week, including regular weekend workAn interest in using technology and AI to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of your workExperience in sport, media, content creation, broadcast, journalism, marketing or communications is helpful but not essentialWhy you'll love being on our teamAt the AFL, you will be part of a values-led team that aims high, backs each other and brings energy, care and integrity to work that matters.
