About the role

Edge Workshop is looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator & Welder to join our small team. We are a well-established Perth business specialising in custom architectural metalwork. We design and manufacture everything from bespoke letterboxes and address plates to decorative screens, gates, fencing and other architectural metalwork.

This isn't a repetitive factory production job. Every project is different, and you'll be working with a variety of materials, designs and fabrication techniques.

Key responsibilities
Reading and working from fabrication and CAD drawings
Measuring, marking out, cutting and folding sheet metal
MIG and TIG welding
Fabricating stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel and Corten steel
Building custom frames, panels, screens, gates and architectural products
Grinding, linishing and finishing to a high standard
Using workshop machinery, hand tools and power tools
Checking your own work for accuracy, quality and finish
Working with waterjet-cut components and incorporating them into finished products
Keeping the workshop clean, organised and secure




Some installation work may be required
Working with in house design team to produce solutions for projects
Overseeing the final product quality

About you
Experience in sheet metal fabrication and welding
Experience in operating a Press Brake
Solid TIG & MIG welding experience, particularly stainless steel and aluminium
The ability to read and interpret workshop drawings
Good measuring and marking-out skills
Experience working with different metals and thicknesses
Experience in building custom frames, panels, screens, gates
Current Forklift licence
A high level of attention to detail
Pride in the quality and finish of your work
A reliable attitude and robust work ethic
