Superheat is a Tasmanian HVAC/mechanical services business. We look after construction, scheduled maintenance and reactive breakdowns for our clients, and we're growing — which means building out the team and the systems to match.
About the role
You'll run the day-to-day service operation for Superheat, keeping planned maintenance on track across all client sites and ensuring breakdown calls get a quick, organised response. You'll lead a small team of around 5 field technicians on a rotational roster, be the main point of contact for clients on anything service-related, and have real ownership over how the department runs — including building the systems and processes that keep it all together. This is an organisational role focused on keeping things running smoothly and working out the best solutions rather than following a script.
Key responsibilities
Keep the maintenance schedule for every client site on track, and jump on it before anything falls overdue
Triage incoming breakdown calls, prioritise by urgency, and get the right technician on the job
Coordinate the technician team day to day — job allocation, checking in on progress, re-juggling when something urgent comes in
Be the point of contact for clients — keeping them updated and building relationships so they keep coming back
Quote reactive and minor works, and price up new maintenance contracts
Keep on top of job admin — job sheets, parts, timesheets, invoicing — so nothing sits half-finished
Build and improve the systems and processes behind all of the above
About you
Highly organised — able to keep on top of a lot of moving parts without dropping any of them
Problem-solving mindset — you work out the best fix for a situation rather than needing a script
Comfortable prioritising and re-prioritising on the fly when an urgent job comes in
Confident on the phone with clients — calm under pressure, transparent about timeframes
Able to lead and get the best out of a small field team
Background in HVAC/mechanical services is a bonus, not a requirement
Advantages
