Underground – PFS & FS Study Work

8:6 or 4:3 roster | 6‑month engagement | WA Underground Operation

Westtech Mining is seeking an experienced Senior Underground Planner or Principal Mining Engineer to support a major underground Feasibility Study (PFS/FS) for one of our WA gold clients. This role is ideal for a technically solid underground engineer who can work independently, deliver high‑quality study outputs, and provide hands‑on technical leadership.

About the Role

You will be embedded within the client’s Technical Services team, providing direct support across key underground study tasks. The role requires a high level of underground planning capability, solid judgement, and the ability to deliver work independently without relying on coordination‑style duties. You will be responsible for:
Underground mine design, stope optimisation, and layout development
Scheduling (short, medium, and study‑level) using Deswik Scheduler
Cut‑off grade calculations, evaluation, and cash flow modelling
Producing PFS/FS‑level engineering outputs and documentation
Reviewing and guiding work completed by other engineers




Integrating designs with geology, survey, and ventilation inputs
Delivering high‑quality technical work with minimal supervision

Required Experience
10+ years underground mining engineering experience (mandatory)
Robust background in UG planning, design, D&B;, production engineering, and study work
Advanced capability in Deswik (CAD, Scheduler, MDM, IS, OPS)
Experience with VentSim or ventilation modelling (preferred)
Ability to independently deliver complex engineering tasks
Strong practical judgement and hands‑on underground experience
First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate (advantageous but not essential)

Roster & Engagement
6‑month contract
8:6 or 4:3 roster, or other mutually agreed arrangement
Site‑based role at a WA underground gold operation
