About the Role

Our client, a global leader in automation and logistics deployment, is seeking a Vendor Manager to oversee a contractor workforce operating across Australia and Japan. This role sits at the intersection of vendor management, workforce planning and commercial oversight, working closely with internal stakeholders and external staffing suppliers to manage a distributed contractor population.

This is a contract position suited to someone who can operate independently across multiple countries and stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities
Manage staffing vendors and the contractor population across Australia and Japan
Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activity, including documentation, training access and operational readiness
Forecast future contractor demand and support workforce planning
Build and maintain talent pipelines for technical/engineering contractor roles
Work with project teams on deployment planning across multiple sites
Monitor contractor utilisation and retention,



and manage redeployment decisions
Support budgeting, work-order planning and supplier spend oversight
Coordinate contractor system access, permissions and compliance requirements
Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external recruitment suppliers

About You
Background in vendor management, contingent workforce management, deployment management, resource management or operations management, ideally within automation, logistics, engineering or large-scale project delivery
Experience managing engineering or technical contractor populations
Comfortable working across multiple countries and time zones with diverse stakeholder groups
Robust organisational and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have
Exposure to fulfilment centres, logistics, automation or deployment projects
Japanese language proficiency (highly desirable given the scope across Japan)

Language Requirements: English essential; Japanese highly desirable
