Ruby Lane Wholefoods is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Barista to join the team on a casual, part time or full-time basis. The role involves consistently producing excellent coffee while participating in all aspects of café service, including greeting customers, taking orders, operating the point-of-sale system and serving food and drinks to tables. While this is not primarily a management position, the successful candidate will be experienced enough to take ownership of the coffee section, support less-experienced team members and help daily service run smoothly.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and serve high-quality specialty coffee consistently
Produce excellent milk texture, espresso extraction and latte art
Adjust grinders and monitor coffee recipes throughout the day
Greet customers and provide friendly, attentive service
Take customer orders accurately using the point-of-sale system
Provide table service, including delivering food and beverages
Transparent and reset tables and maintain a clean dining area
Assist customers with menu questions and dietary requirements
Maintain speed, quality and composure during busy service periods
Keep the coffee station clean, organised and fully stocked
About you
At least 2 years of barista experience, preferably in a busy café
Solid knowledge of espresso preparation, grinder adjustment and milk texturing
Confident and consistent latte art skills
Experience taking orders and providing table service
A friendly and professional approach to customer service
Ability to maintain speed and quality during peak service periods
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A reliable, organised and positive attitude
Confidence working independently and supporting other team members
Experience using point-of-sale systems
