About the role

TSM Contractors is a civil infrastructure and utilities contractor working on telecommunications and utility projects across Adelaide and regional South Australia. We're looking for a reliable Pit and Pipe Worker to join our field crew, carrying out pit and duct installation, maintenance, and related civil works on Telstra, NBN and Optus infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on, physical role suited to someone who's happy working outdoors, as part of a team, and who takes pride in getting the job done right.

A large volume of our current work is in regional South Australia, which will require you to travel and live away from home for up to 11 days at a time. A generous Living Away From Home Allowance (LAFHA) is paid for this work.

Key responsibilities
Installing, laying, and maintaining pits and ducts for telecommunications and utility infrastructure
Vac truck operation
ACM pit upgrades
Grundomat boring
Rod, rope and network survey
Excavation, backfilling, and reinstatement of work sites to spec
Reading and working from site plans and job packs
Working safely around underground services and live infrastructure
Keeping accurate records of completed work for site registers and reporting




Working as part of a crew to meet daily production and quality targets

About you
Previous experience in pit and pipe, civil construction, or telecommunications infrastructure work (preferred but not essential — training provided for the right candidate)
Current driver's licence (essential)
White Card (Construction Induction Card)
MR/HR truck licence (desirable)
Excavator ticket
Asbestos removal ticket
Locate underground utilities ticket
First Aid certificate
Comfortable with physical, outdoor work in all weather conditions
Valuable communication skills and ability to work well in a team
