About Onslow & Life in the Region

Shark Bay Salt Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co. Ltd, owns and operates two salt fields in Western Australia – Onslow Salt and Shark Bay Resources. Onslow Salt, located on the pristine north-west coast of Western Australia, commenced operations in 2001 and today produces approximately 2.7 million tonnes of salt annually, with exports predominantly supplied to Asian markets.

The Role:

The Mechanical Tradesperson is responsible for the repair and ongoing maintenance of the off-highway fleet and related ancillary equipment, including service trucks and water carts.
Conducting routine maintenance and major/minor breakdown repair work on off-highway road transport Kenworth and Scania, Belly Dumpers, Trucks and Trailers, heavy earthmoving mobile equipment and ancillary fleet.




Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults in systems such as highway road transport and heavy earth moving equipment.
Install and commission recent machinery and equipment; modify existing systems to enhance safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with trades, operators, and maintenance teams to coordinate large-scale shutdowns and scheduled maintenance activities.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, including parts usage, service reports, inspection logs, and schedules.

About You:
Heavy Road Transport qualification with post-trade experience and experience with heavy earthmoving equipment (CAT and Komatsu preferred).
WA Drivers Licence
High Risk Work Licence - desirable.
Team player with excellent communication and safety knowledge.
