About the Role

Nilkanth Australia Pty Ltd, trading as Friendly Grocer Hassall Grove, is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy supermarket. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, stock, customer service, sales performance and operational standards while ensuring the store operates efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the supermarket and ensure efficient store performance.
Recruit, train, supervise and coordinate retail staff, including preparation of staff rosters.
Monitor stock levels, arrange purchasing and replenishment, and liaise with suppliers.
Maintain appropriate product displays, pricing, promotions and merchandising standards.
Monitor sales performance, operating costs and store budgets and assist with financial reporting.
Ensure high standards of customer service and promptly address customer enquiries and complaints.
Implement procedures relating to cash handling, stock control and loss prevention.
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, food safety and other applicable store procedures.




Analyse sales and inventory information to identify prospects to improve store performance.
Coordinate promotional activities and implement strategies to increase sales and customer engagement.

Skills and Experience
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in retail management or a closely related supervisory/management role.
Relevant qualification in business, retail management, management or a related field is desirable.
Strong staff management and leadership skills.
Positive understanding of stock control, merchandising and supermarket/retail operations.
Solid communication, organisational and customer-service skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy retail environment.

Full-time ongoing position.
Salary of $80,000–$85,000 + superannuation.
