CHEF DE PARTIE – LIAR LIAR

Braeside, Melbourne | Full-Time Liar Liar is looking for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our growing kitchen team.

Liar Liar is a premium Japanese restaurant and late-night venue in Braeside, serving a modern menu built around sushi, sashimi, Japanese flavours, premium produce and charcoal-grilled dishes.

We’re looking for a chef who is organised, reliable and passionate about producing consistently high-quality food in a busy kitchen.

THE ROLE

As Chef de Partie, you will:
Run and take ownership of your designated section
Prepare and execute dishes consistently to Liar Liar standards
Work across our Japanese hot kitchen and production sections
Maintain excellent presentation, portioning and quality control
Complete daily prep and service mise en place
Work closely with senior chefs during busy services
Assist with stock rotation, ordering and reducing wastage
Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and kitchen organisation
Support junior chefs and kitchen staff when required
Contribute ideas and assist with ongoing menu development

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone who:
Can work in Larder section as well as Robata Grill
Has previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Commis Chef




Is confident working in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
Has solid knife skills and attention to detail
Takes pride in presentation and consistency
Is organised and can manage their own section
Works well under pressure
Has a positive attitude and strong work ethic
Is reliable and wants to be part of a professional kitchen team

Experience with Japanese cuisine, sushi, seafood, charcoal cooking or contemporary Asian cuisine is highly regarded but not essential.
