About the role

This is a wide-ranging medical reception and administration role. Mondays will require you to work confidently and autonomously at reception, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of the front desk, prioritising tasks and managing the day independently.

Key responsibilities
Welcoming patients and providing excellent customer service
Managing appointments, patient arrivals and departures
Answering and managing incoming calls
Medicare claiming, private billing and EFTPOS transactions
Managing emails, referrals and patient correspondence
Scanning and maintaining accurate electronic medical records
Liaising with GPs, nurses and allied health practitioners
Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality
General medical administration
Ensuring reception and the day-to-day practice run smoothly

About you
Previous medical reception experience is essential for this position
Experience using Best Practice or a comparable medical practice management system
Sound understanding of medical reception processes,



Medicare and patient administration
Warm, personable and confident with patients
Comfortable working independently and autonomously
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Calm and capable when managing competing priorities
Reliable, proactive and willing to take initiative
Professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills
A supportive team member who enjoys working in a small practice workplace

The Hours The position will initially include:
Monday – full day
Tuesday – morning
Wednesday – morning
Potential for Friday or Saturday mornings as the practice continues to grow

There may also be opportunities for additional hours and leave coverage.
