Job Description
Becoming a Tradesman in the Electrical field is a well regarded, challenging and rewarding pathway.

Working closely with our valued client in Devonport, the successful applicant will be undertaking a range of duties of an industrial nature, including the scheduled maintenance and repair of a range of equipment, alongside a team of qualified trades men / women.
n

You would be employed by Work & Training - one of the largest employer of Apprentices and Trainees in Tasmania, and hosted to our client for the duration of your apprenticeship.
n
You would be part of a committed team, under guidance of your immediate supervisor.
n
Theory training is conducted at TasTAFE.
n
Your Work & Training Apprenticeship Employment Consultant provides ongoing mentoring and employment support.
n
n
On completion of your apprenticeship, you would receive a nationally recognised Certificate III in Electrotechnology (UEE*****).
n
Do you have:

Motivation and a genuine interest in the industry?
n
High level communication, customer service and organisational skills?
n
The ability to work in a team environment and follow complex instructions?
n
A positive attitude and self-motivation to learn on-the-job, as an apprentice?
n
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with hand tools?
n
Great presentation and the ability to positively represent this valued host.
n

Essential criteria:
n
n
Current drivers licence and clean driving record.
n
White Card.
n
Excellent mathematical aptitude.
n
Knowledge of protected working practices and WHS requirements.
n
n

A pre-vocational course in Electrotechnology is highly desired and the successful applicant must undertake a pre-employment medical, including vision and drug & alcohol testing, as a requirement of this position.

What happens next?

Suitable applicants will be contacted for an initial discussion regarding this apprenticeship.

You will be asked to complete aptitude testing, or other documentation.
n
The third stage of recruitment involves a face-to-face interview with the host employer.
n
If you are the successful applicant, you will be signed up in to your qualification, and a start date will be arranged!
