About the role

The Workers Club, one of Australia's premier live music venues, is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and outgoing Venue Manager to join our team in the heart of Fitzroy. You will be responsible for the overall operations, profitability and guest experience at our establishment. The role is crucial to maintaining our reputation as a leading hospitality destination and ensuring our team delivers the exceptional service we're renowned for. What you'll be doing
n
Managing and supervising staff, including recruitment, training, scheduling and performance management
n
Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations and responsible service of alcohol requirements
n
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance throughout the venue
n
Managing budgets, controlling costs and maximising revenue through effective pricing and promotions
n
Coordinating with suppliers and managing stock levels to ensure optimal availability and minimal wastage
n
Creating and implementing policies and procedures that enhance operational efficiency
n
Planning and executing special events and promotions to drive customer engagement
n
Building and fostering a positive team culture that reflects the long term values of The Workers Club
n




What we're looking for
n
Proven experience as a Venue Manager or similar hospitality management role, preferably in a busy bar, restaurant or entertainment venue
n
Strong knowledge of hospitality operations, point-of-sale systems
n
Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate, mentor and develop staff
n
Demonstrated financial acumen including budget management and cost/wastage control
n
Thorough understanding of licensing laws, health and safety regulations and responsible service of alcohol obligations
n
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with staff, guests and bands
n
Problem-solving capabilities and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
n
Overseeing beer and gas system maintenance
