We're looking for passionate and community-minded First Nations people to join our team in Dubbo, NSW (Wiradjuri Country). This is a full-time role (75 hours per fortnight). You'll be helping young people feel strong, supported and connected to services in their community.

About The Role
n
As an Aboriginal Youth Wellbeing Worker with our headspace Outreach Program, you'll play a key role in supporting your mob and helping young people feel strong and connected. Your work will include:
n
n
Encouraging young people to reach out for support and sharing ways to look after mental health in ways that make sense for your community.
n
Providing warm, culturally safe guidance to help young people (aged *****) find the right services and support when they need it.
n
Bringing people together through community activities that support physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing.
n
This role involves regular travel to rural and remote communities to deliver services and support to young people.
n
n
You'll be supported every step of the way by an organisation that puts its commitment to First Nations peoples at the heart of everything we do.

What You'll Bring
n
n
Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (this is a genuine occupational requirement under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act ****).
n
A qualification or relevant industry experience in Mental Health, Primary Health, Community Services
n
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a sense of integrity and initiative.
n
Great communication and people skills and the ability to manage your time well.
n
Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
n
Confidence using Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
n
A valid Australian Driver's Licence and willingness to travel for work
n
