Job Description
A leading global insurer is seeking a skilled Reinsurance Accountant to join their Reinsurance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role will manage reinsurance treaty accounting and administration working closely with the broader Finance team to support month-end reporting, statutory compliance, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reporting for the reinsurance function
n
Calculate reinsurance treaty premium adjustments, reinstatement premiums and profit commissions
n
Complete reporting schedules and local reporting requirements, including Withholding Tax returns and ABS Survey reinsurance components
n
Prepare and reviewreinsurance statutory reports and schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting deadlines
n
Reconcile debtor positions and oversee credit control, ensuring premiums are paid on time
n
Support audit queries and maintain controls across all reinsurance transactions
n
Contribute to process improvement, automation and centralisation initiatives within the Reinsurance and wider Finance team
n

About You
n
n
Experience in commercial insurance, preferably within reinsurance accounting or general insurance
n
CA/CPA qualification -or working towards
n
Advanced Excel skills, analytical skills, and the ability to manage ambiguity and competing deadlines
n
Full working rights in Australia required
n
n
This is a 12 month FTC and can be based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
