Job Description
Artcom Fabrication is a Perth-based signage and fabrication business known for turning complex, creative briefs into high-quality, bespoke reality. From large-format signage and public art through to custom graphics and one-off fabricated pieces, our workshop works across an enormous range of materials and processes — metals, acrylics, fibreglass, LED and neon, laminates, and more.
n
We're looking for an experienced Production Team Leader to run our workshop floor, lead a skilled production team, and make sure every job leaves us on time, on budget, and to a standard we're proud of.
n
About the Role
n
This is a hands-on leadership role at the centre of our production process. You'll split your time between managing the workshop floor and rolling your sleeves up alongside the team — fabricating, problem-solving, and setting the standard for quality and safety.
n
You'll be the critical link between sales, design, and production — running daily production meetings, planning workflow, and making sure every job sheet, material order, and installation date is tracked and delivered.
n
Day to day, you'll:
n
Lead, coordinate and mentor a team of tradespeople and production staff across fabrication, finishing and installation
n
Run daily production meetings with sales, design and production to plan workload and flag issues early
n
Read and interpret production drawings and plans, translating them into a clear job-specific work schedule
n
Oversee fabrication, moulding, assembly and finishing across a wide range of materials (plastics, metals, acrylics, fibreglass, glass, laminates, LED/neon) and coatings (painting, spray-painting, powder coating, laminating and more)
n
Manage stock and consumables — ordering economically, tracking usage, and keeping accurate records for cost control
n
Maintain quality control across every job, on and off site,
and pick up issues before they become problems
n
Coordinate site visits, installations and any special equipment or access requirements
n
Champion a protected workshop — identifying hazards, enforcing safe work practices, and building the team's understanding of OH&S; responsibilities
n
Keep the workshop opening/closing routines, equipment maintenance, and vehicle upkeep running like clockwork
n
What You'll Bring
n
Trade qualification and solid hands-on experience in signage, fabrication, or a closely related trade
n
Proven experience leading or supervising a production or workshop team
n
Strong working knowledge of fabrication materials, coatings and finishing processes
n
Confidence reading technical drawings and production plans
n
Excellent time management — able to juggle multiple jobs and deadlines without losing sight of quality
n
A practical, solutions-focused mindset with the judgement to work autonomously
n
Strong communication skills — you'll be liaising daily with clients, sales, design and management
n
A genuine commitment to workplace safety and quality
n
Forklift or EWP (cherry-picker) tickets highly regarded
n
Why Join Artcom?
n
Genuine variety — no two jobs are the same, from signage to public art to bespoke one-offs
n
A hands-on leadership role with real autonomy and ownership of the workshop floor
n
Work with a skilled, close-knit team that takes pride in its craft
n
Be part of a business investing in its people and its future
