Instrument Commissioning & Start-Up Technician Summary

We're looking for an experienced Instrument Commissioning & Start-Up Technician for a 5-month self-employed contract in Brisbane, Australia. This role is ideal for professionals who hold the right to work self-employed in Australia and have expertise in instrumentation commissioning and start-up activities.

Responsibilities
n
n
Deliver reliable, high-quality instrumentation commissioning and start-up services for control systems.
n
Adhere to all site safety requirements, procedures and permit systems.
n
Perform commissioning, troubleshooting, repair and calibration of instrumentation including transmitters, fire and gas systems, control valves and monitoring systems.
n
Inspect, adjust,



test and commission instrumentation equipment to applicable standards.
n
Execute Cause & Effect testing, loop testing, calibration, and system walkdowns.
n
Close out punch lists and ensure compliance with system requirements.
n
Support vendor personnel and coordinate with other disciplines during start-up activities.
n

Must-have Requirements
n
n
Minimum 5 years' experience in instrumentation commissioning and start-up.
n
Certificate III in Instrumentation Craft (or equivalent).
n
EEHA certification.
n
Valid First Aid and LV Rescue qualifications.
n
Queensland Electrical Licence.
n
Right to work as self-employed in Australia (Australian citizen or equivalent).
n

Nice-to-have Skills
n
n
Strong troubleshooting ability across diverse systems.
n
Previous experience working on major industrial or energy projects.
