Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Kickboxing Coach to lead and develop our University Kickboxing club. Our club accommodates beginners and casual attendees as well as ***** competitive fighters who train regularly. We train and compete in Light Contact Kickboxing, with no knees, elbows or clinching being allowed in sparring. We're hoping to find a coach that will put a robust emphasis on strength and conditioning, live drilling/sparring and seeks to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all our members. Job Purpose: To provide high-quality coaching to students of varying ability, fostering skill development, fitness, and competitive performance in kickboxing while ensuring a safe and inclusive training environment. Working hours: One session per week: During Michaelmas and Lent Terms only.

Key Responsibilities
n

Plan and deliver engaging and structured kickboxing training sessions for students of varying skill levels.
n
Provide coaching for all levels, from beginners to competitive athletes.
n
Develop individual and team performance strategies, including technical, tactical, and physical conditioning.
n
Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including risk assessments and injury prevention measures.
n
Prepare students for university competitions, BUCS fixtures, Varsity and other relevant events.
n
Provide mentorship and motivation to students, fostering a positive and disciplined training culture.
n
Maintain equipment and ensure proper usage during training sessions.
n
Collaborate with university sports staff and club committee members to align training with club objectives.
n
Uphold health and safety, safeguarding and inclusivity standards, ensuring a welcoming environment for all participants.
n
Adherence to club policies and procedures.
n
Stay up to date with coaching best practices and relevant qualifications.
n

Essential
n
n
Recognised kickboxing coaching qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or higher).
n
Experience in coaching kickboxing.
n
Strong communication, motivational and leadership skills.
n
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in sports coaching.
n
Ability to plan and deliver progressive training programs.
n
Commitment to inclusivity and student development.
n
First aid certifications.
n

Desirable

Experience coaching competitive teams.
