The Community Maternity Services - Midwifery Unit Manager (MUM) will work collaboratively with midwives and the relevant multidisciplinary team in providing holistic woman centred care, ensuring optimal outcomes for clients through the promotion of best practice.
The Community Maternity Services - MUM will effectively and efficiently manage allocated, financial, human and physical resources for community midwifery services including midwifery continuity models of care, midwifery support program and antenatal clinic.
The purpose of the Midwifery Unit Manager role is to:
lead, direct and co-ordinate women-centred care;
ensure the practice of midwifery is safe and efficient, maintaining standards of care through continual quality improvement initiatives
lead and co-ordinate the midwifery and multi-disciplinary care team at the ward or unit level, and




monitor the business and management functions and processes of the ward or unit provide strategic, operational and financial responsibility for Community Maternity Services
Manage resources, budgets, assets, projects and staffing

Selection Criteria:
1. Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
2. Demonstrated skills in leadership and management within a health care setting
3. Has undertaken and continues to engage in professional development to further advance their management and leadership competencies
4. A demonstrated knowledge and experience in the management and delivery of health care services
5. A demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation
6. A demonstrated understanding of quality improvement and the ability to manage change
7. Demonstrable negotiation and conflict resolution skills
8. Computer literacy skills
