About the Role
This is a permanent part time position of 12.5 hours per fortnight (Thursday afternoon shifts) within the Butterfly Ward – Newborn Intensive Care Unit.
There will be opportunity to work additional hours to cover leave within the team as well.
You will be responsible for attending to customer service tasks including answering phones, responding to enquiries, greeting families and visitors, and collaborating with other staff and departments within the organisation.
You will also be accountable for administrative tasks including but not limited to maintaining data within various IT systems, maintaining administrative components of patient records, and processing admission and discharges.
Classification for this position will range from A021 – A025 (base salary $69,****** - $76,****** per annum, plus superannuation)
What you'll achieve:
Support the Nurse Unit Manager and Butterfly Ward nursing team by performing the ward specific duties as directed by the NUM/ANUM.
Support parents/families of our patients by attending to their enquiries.
Collaboration within the wider organisation and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of services.
Your skills and experience
Proven experience working in a busy front line customer service role dealing with large volumes of people
Demonstrated experience in using various computer applications, including Microsoft office programs
About the Department
The Butterfly Ward at the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) is a 35-bed neonatal unit comprising of both intensive care and high dependency beds and receives up to 800 referrals per year.
Butterfly Ward is a Level 6b NICU which provides complex medical and surgical care to neonatal patients primarily referred from Victoria, Tasmania, and Southern New South Wales.
