OUR STORY
The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act ****.
The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people in the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres.
The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.
THE ROLE
HR019 - Work Health and Safety Project Officer
Full time, Fixed-Term 12-Month Contract.
KEY FUNCTIONS

This role is a chance at contributing a real difference in Central Land Council's operations and mission, by undertaking the implementation of actions arising from an internal audit.
Under the direction of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator, the WHS Project Officer is a practical, hands-on role, pivotal in developing and implementing key safety initiatives across the CLC.
No two days will be the same as this role works through the action items from the audit.
Based in Alice Springs, this role will travel through the breathtaking Central Australian landscape, consulting with CLC's programs in person.
From Kaltukatjara in the southwest to Lajamanu and Kalkarindji in the north (and everything in between!), the WHS Project Officer will be face-to-face, On Country, working directly with CLC's workers and developing WHS tools and solutions for everyday work.
Some of the tasks being undertaken will be:
Consulting with the Ranger teams, On Country, working directly with the workers undertaking the jobs and developing tools and resources to assist with their work
Sitting down with the Community Development team, discussing how psychosocial hazards affect workers in our remote workplaces
Conducting regular inspections of CLC workplaces and properties, in Alice Springs and on remote communities, to ensure compliance and improvement
Above all, be the practical, hands-on face in our workplaces, working towards improvements and solutions in our varied workplace

REMUNERATION & REMARKABLE BENEFITS
Base Salary Range:
Starting from $90,386 p.a. (negotiable classification banding based on skills and experience, subject to CLC EA guidelines and authorised approval).
