About the Role
As the Head Theatre Technician, you will play a pivotal role in the leadership, coordination and management of the Theatre Technician team across the Perioperative Department.
Working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and multidisciplinary team, you will help create a high-performing culture while ensuring safe, productive and patient-centred care delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, mentoring and developing Theatre Technicians across Grades 1-5
Coordinating recruitment, rostering, leave management and onboarding of new team members
Conducting performance reviews and supporting staff development
Maintaining accreditation standards and compliance requirements
Supporting theatre efficiency, workflow optimisation and positive team culture
Managing equipment and supply availability across the department
Delivering education programs and targeted staff training
Monitoring compliance with mandatory training requirements
Escalating operational issues and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
About Knox Private Hospital
Located in Wantirna, Knox Private Hospital is a fully accredited 334-bed tertiary facility providing Emergency Services, extensive Surgical Specialties, Critical Care,



Medical Services and comprehensive Cardiac Care, including two 24-hour Cardiac Catheter Laboratories.

15 operating theatres
, including a Day Procedure Centre and Hybrid Theatre, supporting specialties such as:
Bariatric & Liver Surgery
Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery

About You
You are an experienced Theatre Technician leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to clinical excellence, teamwork and staff development.
To be successful, you will have:
Certificate IV in Health Service Assistance (Operating Theatre Technical Support)
Minimum 3 years' experience post Certificate IV completion
Advanced specialty training in areas such as cell saving, laser, stealth, organ retrieval or spinal care
Comprehensive knowledge across all operating theatre specialties and workflows
Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
The ability to work autonomously and demonstrate high levels of accountability
A passion for mentoring and developing others




Certificate IV Training and Assessment
Previous experience at Theatre Technician Grade 4 or above

Salary:
$***** - $***** per hour + superannuation (based on relevant experience).
