As a Clinical Nurse Consultant in the Secure Assessment Unit (SAU) at Shellharbour Hospital, you'll bring your advanced clinical expertise to a dedicated, low-stimulus environment designed to support people experiencing mental health crisis, drug and alcohol withdrawal, behaviours of concern, and psychosocial or situational crisis.
You'll provide comprehensive mental health assessment, treatment and care while working closely with Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol, Social Work, Psychiatry and Emergency Department teams.
Beyond your clinical expertise, you'll play a key role in supporting and developing your colleagues, promoting evidence-based practice and contributing to education, research and service improvement.
This is an opportunity to step into a senior clinical leadership role where your judgement and ability to build strong therapeutic and professional relationships can make a meaningful difference to people at a critical point in their healthcare journey.
Shellharbour Hospital is a busy acute care facility which provides emergency services, elective surgical services, general medicine, antenatal and primary family health care, satellite renal dialysis,
and adolescent and adult mental health services on site.
It's an accredited healthcare facility with the Australian Council on Health Care Standards (ACHS) and is recognised as providing a high standard of care to the community.
Located on the beautiful South Coast of NSW, Shellharbour is known for its spectacular coastal scenery and is only a little over a 1.5 hour drive from Sydney.

Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role
Working With Children Check (WWCC)
Current AHPRA Registration with a minimum five years full-time equivalent post registration experience and in addition who has approved post registration qualification in Mental Health or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation
Valid NSW Drivers Licence
This is a temporarily funded position until 30 June **** with the possibility of an extension subject to funding.
