About the Role:
This is a part time/full time position to cover various leave types for six months (Fixed Term) within Rosella Ward - Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), with an option to transition to Nursing Workforce Department - Pool, working part time or full time, hours negotiable.
You will be responsible for undertaking comprehensive holistic patient assessments and contributes to the development of care plans, ensuring alignment with best practice and the individual needs of patients and families.
You will be working alongside key stakeholders communicating and collaborating effectively to ensure coordinated patient care is efficient and supports functioning of healthcare systems.
Internally, this position may otherwise be known and/or referred to as: Registered Nurse - Rosella Ward.
Classification for this position will range from YP4 (RN Grade 2, Year 3) to YP9 (RN Grade 2, Year 8), base salary $89,******-$107,****** per annum, pro rata for part-time, plus superannuation.
What you'll achieve:
Provide culturally and cognitively appropriate healthcare education to patients and their families on conditions,
treatment plans, and self-care strategies
Promote patient and family education and involvement in decision-making related to their healthcare
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of nursing practices and patient outcomes
Serve as a role model for ethical nursing practices and professionalism
Collaborate and consult with the nursing team and other multidisciplinary team members to achieve desired health outcomes for patients and their families
Your skills and experience:
Demonstrated clinical competence and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Recent nursing experience in a critical care department.
About the Department:
The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides intensive care services to critically unwell patients from 0-18yrs from across Australia.
RCH PICU is the designated statewide major trauma centre for paediatrics and collaborates with other health service providers within Victoria to provide specialised treatment for various services including liver transplant (Austin Health) and lung transplant (Alfred Health).
