About the role
Mater Mothers' Hospital
currently has multiple opportunities for
Clinical Midwives
to work within our
Birth Suites and the Pregnancy Assessment Centre
.
We have
permanent and maximum-term
positions available at
0.95FTE
.
The successful applicant will provide
clinical midwifery leadership
and management on a day-to-day basis and deliver evidence-based care to women ranging from the care of normal, low risk women through to complex obstetric and medical care requiring an extensive multidisciplinary approach.
The Pregnancy Assessment Centre, arranges care in the same way as hospital emergency departments, by using a triage process to prioritise women according to their individual situation.
As a Clinical Midwife, you will be responsible for practicing with advanced clinical competence in the provision of quality and cost-effective care in consultation with other members of the health care team.
This includes providing support and direction to other staff while role modelling and promoting professional standards of practice and conduct.
You will be providing exceptional care to both public and privately funded women ranging from the care of normal, low risk women through to complex obstetric and medical care requiring an extensive multidisciplinary approach.
About you
To be successful in your application for this position it is essential that you have:
Current Midwifery registration with AHPRA (no restrictions)
Considerable post-graduate midwifery experience, preferably within a birthing services environment
Advanced clinical competency and the ability to maintain the highest standards of nursing/midwifery practice
Effective communication and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care within the multidisciplinary teamCommitment to the continuous improvement of health care and midwifery practice, and to continuing professional development of self and others.
