About Our School
Our Lady of Mercy Catholic College Burraneer is the only 7-12 Girls Secondary College in the Sutherland Shire. Our modern campus overlooks Burraneer Bay and the Royal National Park, providing a tranquil backdrop for learning in a vibrant educational and faith community. We require a permanent full time Leader of Diverse Learning (2pt) commencing 28 January ****.
About You
As aLeader of Diverse Learning, you will inspire students through engaging, student-centered teaching within a Catholic learning environment. The position is a 2-point promotional role, temporary for up to 3 years, however your teaching position will be full-time and permanent. To excel in this role you will:
lead and manage the Diverse Learning faculty
foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, engaging with current theory and research in diverse learning and inclusive education
work closely with staff, students, parents and external partners to improve student learning outcomes
assist with the identification of students with special educational needs, consult and collaborate with parents, colleagues, SCS personnel and external providers, and facilitate referral and assessment procedures
monitor intervention, teach students, and assist teachers with curriculum differentiation
employ a data-informed approach to setting challenging learning objectives and providing constructive feedback. Collaborate with class teachers and other relevant people to assist in the design, implementation, monitoring and review of adjustments, as documented in the Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs)
contribute to the provision of staff career development and parent education programs
liaise with relevant schools particularly in relation to transition periods
manage the preparation of documentation required under legislation in line with privacy, confidentiality, and disability obligations, for example, pre-enrolment documentation, and assist in the preparation of submissions for the National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)
manage HSC provisions
bring a tertiary qualification in Education and NESA accreditation.
