Reporting to the Head of Senior School, you will lead a cohesive and high-performing team of teachers, establishing clear expectations for excellence while fostering a culture of collaboration, professional growth, accountability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the English faculty (Years 7–12), including curriculum planning, assessment, reporting, faculty development, and day-to-day faculty operations.
Champion excellence in teaching and learning, ensuring programs are innovative, evidence based, and tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
Inspire and mentor English teachers in pedagogical best practice, curriculum delivery, classroom management, and professional growth.

Essential Criteria
Active commitment to the Christian faith and the capacity to seamlessly infuse the school's Christian ethos into leadership, teaching practice, and community relationships.
Demonstrated record as an outstanding Secondary English classroom practitioner,



including proven success in teaching Stage 6 and driving high student achievement through evidence-informed practice.
Thorough knowledge of NESA English syllabi, assessment, and reporting requirements, alongside a strong understanding of Australian Curriculum priorities and general capabilities.
Proven capacity to lead, mentor, and hold to account a high-performing faculty team, fostering a culture of academic rigour, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
High-level capability in using student performance data to inform teaching strategies, targeted interventions, and strategic faculty planning.
Ability to thoughtfully lead educational change, manage faculty budgets, and align annual departmental goals with the School's Strategic Intent.
Active NESA teacher accreditation and a current NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance.

Salary & Conditions
This is a permanent full-time position. Remuneration will be aligned with the Independent Schools (Teachers) Cooperative Multi-Enterprise Agreement, plus an additional discretionary allowance in recognition of leadership responsibilities.
