About the role:
Join our Pharmacy Technician team and play an important role in supporting the safe, timely and productive delivery of medications across Western Health.
Working alongside and under the direction of a pharmacist you'll gain experience across a diverse range of services including ward pharmacy, dispensing, medication distribution, imprest and inventory management.
You'll also have opportunities to develop your skills in specialised areas such as sterile, non-sterile and cytotoxic manufacturing, clinical trials, pre-packing and pharmacy automation.
This is a diverse and rewarding role offering opportunities to build your skills and contribute to high-quality patient care across a large and dynamic health service.
Support the safe and timely dispensing, supply and distribution of medications across inpatient, outpatient and other Western Health services, working under pharmacist supervision.
Manage medication inventory and stock distribution, including imprest services, stock rotation, expiry management, medication shortages, returns and recalls.
Provide technical pharmacy support across a range of services, with opportunities to work in ward pharmacy, manufacturing, sterile and cytotoxic services, clinical trials and other specialised areas following appropriate training.
Contribute to medication safety, quality improvement and collaborative pharmacy practice, including audits, KPIs, continuous improvement activities and working closely with pharmacists and multidisciplinary teams.
A Certificate III in Hospital Pharmacy or equivalent
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills

An ability to work as a team member
A commitment to continuous quality improvement processes and ongoing change
Demonstrated initiative and motivation
