The Registered Nurse is responsible for:
The provision of person centered, quality care to clinical trial participants.
Coordinating and effectively managing clinical trials being undertaken at the Illawarra Shoalhaven Cardiology Service.
Ensuring the conduct of clinical trials is in accordance with relevant clinical trial regulations and guidelines (including ICH GCP, TGA Note for Guidance on GCP and NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research Involving Humans).
Set up and manage clinical trial documentation, patient recruitment, assessment and planning of patient care in accordance with the trial protocol and regulatory / institutional guidelines.
Data management activities including source data entry, clinical data extraction and transcription of data to a variety of trial databases.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary team.
Working in therapeutic and professional relationships with individuals, as well as families, groups and communities.
Providing supervision and support for less experienced staff and maintaining skilled accountability and development in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia's Standards of Practice.
Acting as an appropriate and effective role model and promote culture supporting practices that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment through demonstrated behaviours and interactions with colleagues, patients and their carers.
Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra Shoalhaven's major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed-base count of more than 500.
The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.
Wollongong is located an hour's drive south of Sydney on a narrow coastal strip bordered by the Royal National Park to the north, Lake Illawarra to the south, the Tasman Sea to the east and the Illawarra Escarpment to the west.

Essential Requirements
Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role.
Working With Children Check (WWCC)
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
Venepuncture skills or working towards acquiring same.
This is a temporary leave relief position from 16 November (pending finalisation of this recruitment) until 7 February ****.
