About the Role We're looking for an experienced
Behaviour Support Practitioner
to join our
North East Melbourne team
, with access to our Northcote clinic on High Street as your local team base.
This opportunity is open to practitioners who are
currently considered suitable by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission at Core level or above
.
You'll have flexibility across
clinic, community and hybrid working
, supporting participants in the environments where behaviour support can have the greatest impact while having a genuine local base for team connection, appointments and focused work.
Our community caseloads are built with your location in mind wherever possible, helping to keep travel practical and manageable.
We're particularly interested in practitioners based across
Northcote, Thornbury, Preston,
Reservoir, Heidelberg, Ivanhoe, Bundoora, Greensborough and surrounding north and north-eastern suburbs.
You'll also be part of a genuinely multidisciplinary team, working alongside
Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and other Behaviour Support Practitioners
, giving you access to different clinical perspectives and opportunities to collaborate around shared participants.
What You'll Be Doing
Deliver person-centred Positive Behaviour Support across home, school, clinic and community settings
Conduct functional behaviour assessments and develop evidence-informed Behaviour Support Plans
Support participants with a range of presentations, including autism, intellectual disability and complex behaviours
Work collaboratively with participants, families, carers, support teams, educators and other professionals
Provide coaching and practical strategies to the people supporting participants day to day
Manage a varied caseload with consideration given to your location and experience
Work closely with OT, Speech Pathology and other allied health colleagues
Participate in regular clinical supervision, peer collaboration and professional development

What You'll Bring
Current NDIS Commission suitability at Core level or above – this is essential for this position
Experience delivering Positive Behaviour Support within the NDIS
Strong understanding of person-centred and evidence-informed behaviour support practice
Confidence working collaboratively with participants, families, support networks and other professionals
Strong communication, report writing and organisational skills
NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain
Driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle, as some community-based work forms part of the role
